Vector art is an image created using paths or strokes created by mathematical computer calculations.
There are a few different programs used to create Vector art, but we most commonly use Adobe Illustrator. Illustrator is a very precise program that allows you to create very detailed pieces of art. In the right hands and with a lot of time and effort a striking design can be attained. Artwork created using illustrator often takes much longer and comes at a greater cost compared to raster art which is made up out of a series of pixels. Vector images have an advantage because they can be blown up to almost any size without losing clarity.
Above is an illustration done using Vector art for Sparks Law in Rhode Island. Tom Sparks is an accident attorney who wanted a modernized “Lady of Justice” for a brand. Renato Lopez, the illustrator, started with some hand drawn sketches and it has been developed into this spectacular vector version.
