A bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work.
The similarities in marketing will blow you away. No one knows how the first human caught a fish. He may have walked up to a small pool of water and quickly reach down to grab his dinner for the evening. When the easy catch began to get more difficult, he may have used a bow and arrow or just a club. As time went by, someone put some bait on the end of a line and now had an invention that fed the whole family. As the population increased, boats were invented and nets came soon after. All of these tools were used to harvest the food we need.
When you started your business, what was the first thing you did? It might be hard to remember, but it was probably similar to the guy who caught the first fish. Basically you were Fishing for Business. You saw and opportunity and grabbed it. You made money and wanted more. Like fishing, every ad you run is a piece of bait on the end of a hook. The more lines in the water the more fish you’ll catch. Sure, sometimes the bait might not work. Just like fishing, they might only be hitting certain baits that day. The trick is to keep trying different things and you’ll find the bait that works. There will be no way of telling how big the fish will be, but one thing for sure is if you don’t put a line in the water you probably won’t catch much.
Just like fishing equipment, advancements in marketing has come a long way with the development of the internet. The internet attracts people from various locations almost like chumming the water. You have to make your website desirable to the search engines for you to get hits, but unlike casting for fish and dropping bait in front of the prey, your spreading bait out. Using the internet as a literal net, you’ll be catching food for you business all day long.
