Don’t tell people what they must have, Educate Customers as to what they Really Want.
As an expert in what you do, you know what’s possible, what’s reasonable, and what’s effective in your field. You have the education, the experience, and the know how that has enabled you to be in the business that you’re in. Your customers don’t have any of this.
As a result, many times you’ll be faced with a customer that simply doesn’t understand what they really need or what would be most effective in their situation.
Instead of telling them that their request is impossible or bullying them into something that they don’t believe that they want, educate your customer as to why what you’re proposing is the correct avenue to take.
Imagine that a client comes to you and says that they want you to draw them a 4 sided triangle. Of course that’s impossible. Triangles have 3 sides. If you tell them that what they really want is a square, they most likely won’t be as receptive as they would be if you educated them as to why they want a square.
One of the most effective methods in today’s internet world to educate your customers on your industry, product, and services is a business blog. A business blog helps you educate your customer, build trust in potential customers, and build your website a strong internet marketing base to bring you more visitors.
